dessert to ring in the spring. With temperatures in the 70's around the tri-state area, ice cream is a tasty treat. Served over drunken poached pears is an indulgence with rewards... ------------------------------------- Why

know your saying, who has the time? You do, you really do. Your going to
be so proud of yourself and wonder why you haven't tried this before... ---------------------------------- First
thing first, the ice cream machine. You don't have to get fancy. For
about $55 you can buy a Cuisinart that makes about 1 1/2 quarts 6 - 10
serv... I purchased mine from Macy's, but I'm a frequent shopper their,
so I pay attention to their sale strategy. Theirs nothing that Macy's
sell, that I can't find at a bargain. My suggestion is to always compare
prices. Never give up unnecessary money when you don't have too. ---------------------------------- Once
you found the right ice cream maker to fit your budget, rinse out the
insert (the bowl) and freeze it. This should be done the day before your
going to make the ice cream. This is what freezes the cream while
mixing, turning it into ice cream... Don't forget to rinse out the
mixing bowl & refreeze for the next batch. I leave my mixing bowl in
the freezer, so when I get that urge coming on, I have ice cream in 2 -
3 hrs. -------------------------------------- Now
the fun part, figuring out what kind of ice cream you want to eat.. My
mouth is watering thinking about it. Of course the first ice cream I
made was vanilla, super simple. That can be your base for other flavors
once you've found that perfect recipe, A recipe book should come with
your machine, but you can find several recipes on line, under your brand
of ice cream machine. Your basic ingredients are, cream, sugar, pure
vanilla, sea salt, maybe eggs depending on the consistency your looking
for. Mix all ingredients in a separate bowl, then refrigerate for at
least 1hr (don't skip that step or your mixture may not firm up
properly). When mixture chills, attache ice cream mixing bowl to
machine, pour in mixture and turn on machine for about 20 mins. ---------------------------------- -------------------------------------- The truth of the matter is, I love the freedom of knowing what I put into my body, and this is as close as you'll get to all natural ice cream. I use agave nectar instead of sugar, which is a great substitute for diabetics.Try coconut milk if your vegan. Either or, If it's made from love and you can't go wrong. Get the family involved and see who makes the best ice cream.
