My Farmers Market Tip of The Day
As you all may know, my name is Chef Steph G., I'm a self trained chef & owner of "Twice The Spice Caterers" I was practically raised, shopping @ the Farmers Market... The first one was 9th St, we call it, in South Philly or The Italian Market... That was over 30 yrs ago, I think I'll stop there, lol...
Today I'm in love with Farmers Markets, especially the ones that sell everything from, produce, to spices, seafood, meat, breads, cheese, preserves, fresh made juice, prepared foods & even hand made scented candles and soaps.
One of my favorite's
"Egg Foo Young"
I love egg foo young, but I rarely eat it because of certain ingredients that are used to enhance the flavor, like MSG (monosodium glutamate) which has been controversial for a long time know and has been added to oriental cuisine in just about every Oriental Take Out Restaurant in the US. So I choose to not eat it, since some people have had bad reactions, after eating high doses in their food.
So what do you do about it? You learn to cook it.
"IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR"
You don't need a Bbq Pit to grill. Buy yourself a stove toppeppert iron griddle. (you can buy them @ just about any department store / $29 on up. Open your windows, unless you have a high powered exhaust. Coat your griddle with a little oil, crank up the heat & look forward to a flavorful juicy burger.
- 1lb ground beef . (take out fridge 30 mins. In advance)
- season with a little salt & pepper
- add a few drops of water
- split in 8 balls, flatten
- toast 8 slider buns (coated with a little butter)

Chilean Sea Bass is my favorite fish. I called it the jewel of the sea. The buttery taste & the meaty flaky texture makes this my all time favorite. Don't get it twisted, it's a pricey cut of fish, but you won't regret it. So when your ready to splurge, add a nice chunk of Chilean Sea Bass to you next gourmet treat. Seasonal price flucuates between $20 & $28 per lb

Juicy Grilled Steak & Potatoes

Try this easy "entree" for your significant other, or treat yourself.
- Buy your favorite cut of steak at least 1inch thick
- Season with some montreal steak seasoning, place in ziploc bag, marinate over night
- Take steak out fridge
- Scrub & rinse your favorite potato
- Bake in oven until tender
- Rinse & Slice 1 small onion
- Wipe clean with damp paper towel 3 crimini & 3 shitake mushrooms (slice)
- Light your grill, when charcoals are gray about 20 mins

1/4 lb sliced Provolone Cheese
