My Farmers Market Tip of The Day
As you all may know, my name is Chef Steph G., I'm a self trained chef & owner of "Twice The Spice Caterers" I was practically raised, shopping @ the Farmers Market... The first one was 9th St, we call it, in South Philly or The Italian Market... That was over 30 yrs ago, I think I'll stop there, lol...
Today I'm in love with Farmers Markets, especially the ones that sell everything from, produce, to spices, seafood, meat, breads, cheese, preserves, fresh made juice, prepared foods & even hand made scented candles and soaps.
One of my favorite's
"Egg Foo Young"
I love egg foo young, but I rarely eat it because of certain ingredients that are used to enhance the flavor, like MSG (monosodium glutamate) which has been controversial for a long time know and has been added to oriental cuisine in just about every Oriental Take Out Restaurant in the US. So I choose to not eat it, since some people have had bad reactions, after eating high doses in their food.
So what do you do about it? You learn to cook it.
